History
The need for global healthcare has sky rocketed in recent years. At least 1.3 billion people worldwide lack access to the most basic healthcare. Many of them are compelled to travel to other areas or countries to receive healthcare. According to the Census Bureau's 2005 Current Population Survey (CPS), there were 45.8 million uninsured individuals in the United States. Across Europe, many patients participating in the national healthcare system are facing delays in receiving treatment. In Asia and the Middle East, some patients travelled to TURKEY and other countries to receive what they believe is a higher standard of care. For various reasons, patients are now travelling TURKEY to receive health care. Many healthcare organization accreditation services did not have the resources or expertise to effectively address the tourism and healthcare aspects of this industry together. Healthlife in Turkey has a mission for service of Health Tourism International, was were established in mid 2011, as a portal and service that connects all people interested in healthcare abroad, with safe and effective information and accreditation. In addition, we do not take any commission from our partnerships or arrangements with hospitals, therefore we maintain a non-partisan approach to safe healthcare services in TURKEY. We have the greatest confidence in the Turkish healthcare organisations that have joined our website. None of our management has investments in the health tourism industry. We have a neutral policy on the topic of health travel.
Healthlife in Turkey - A Misnomer: Healthcare trip is the act of travelling to a foreign place to receive one or more healthcare services abroad. At the turn of the century, the misnomer of Medical Tourism or Healthcare Tourism was applied to this boom because many people do partake in some tourist activities either before or after receiving healthcare. However, the truth is that many of them do not engage in any tourism associated with healthcare services abroad.
Our Mission is to uphold and improve the reputation and safety of the healthcare tourism industry by promoting Turkish healthcare tourism practices among our member organizations. We develop and employ safety, accreditation, and technology solutions to improve the healthcare system for those who choose the avenue of receiving healthcare in Turkey. We maintain a neutral stance on the policy of healthcare tourism promotion and outsourcing, but support safe and effective services for foreign patients.
